In February 2023, we woke up to the news: “Avocado containers detained for inspection due to suspected transportation of illicit goods.” Interestingly, the shipping company notified the delay 15 days after the fact, asking whether to load the containers onto the ship or return them to the packing facilities. The decision was to proceed with shipping. Fourteen of these containers used Cold Wind System technology, while the others did not.
Upon arrival in Japan, a group of exporters, having decided to ship despite the delay, planned a collective lawsuit to claim damages from the shipping company. Cold Wind System users doubted their fruit would arrive fresh, while non-users were convinced their shipments would be overripe.
Confident in the effectiveness of our technology, we advised our users not to join the lawsuit but to wait until their cargo was inspected. As expected, the containers using Cold Wind System arrived in perfect condition. Following this experience, we gained a new user who has since successfully shipped multiple containers with our technology.
