Cold Wind System presented to UDECAM

Cold Wind System technology was presented to UDECAM members (Union of Avocado Packers and Exporters of Michoacán), highlighting its benefits for long-distance maritime exports requiring reefer containers. Key benefits include fresh fruit delivery with long shelf life, zero penalties, and zero claims for overripe products.

Cold Wind System has been successfully tested in over 4,000 reefer containers transporting Hass avocados from Mexico and Peru to Japan, China, and Hong Kong, arriving in perfect ripening conditions.

It was also shared that the technology, pending patent approval with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), has been scaled into a downloadable app available on the App Store and Play Store, depending on the operating system.

Using Cold Wind System is straightforward and takes only 10 minutes before loading products into the container. With an anemometer, airflow and pressure are measured at six points inside the refrigerated container. The app records these readings and indicates how many cardboard deflectors need to be placed inside the reefer container to ensure cold air reaches the door area. These deflectors are also pending patent approval.

The presentation was led by Ruth Hernández Jacobson, Marketing Director, and Jaime López Martínez, Operations Director at Cold Wind System.
